Participants will be able to distinguish between typical and atypical child development, identify early signs of developmental delays across key domains, and apply inclusive strategies to support diverse learners in the classroom.

This presentation brings together the perspectives of a Parent Infant Specialist, a Deaf adult with bilateral cochlear implants, and a Deaf outdoor volunteer to provide a well-rounded approach to supporting PK age group (DHH and typical children). Educators will gain practical strategies to enhance language development, accessibility, and inclusion across daily routines and learning environments.

Participants will understand the purpose and impact of Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) services and will be able to identify when and how to refer children (birth to age three) with suspected developmental delays or disabilities to appropriate supports.

Discover simple, effective behavior strategies designed to create calmer classrooms and more confident young learners. Participants will explore the foundations of early childhood behavior development, including common behavior patterns, environmental triggers, and the impact of relationships, routines, and classroom design. Through real-world examples, hands-on activities, and practical modeling, attendees will learn how to implement preventative strategies, reinforce positive behavior, and respond to challenging moments with consistency and confidence.
The training will also highlight the importance of visual supports, clear expectations, routine-building, emotional regulation tools, and positive reinforcement systems that align with how young children learn best. Educators will leave with a toolkit of strategies they can immediately apply to increase engagement, reduce disruptions, and promote independence, cooperation, and successful transitions throughout the school day.
